Mission Statement

Room B6 is more than a classroom. It is a place where students are formed intellectually, spiritually, morally, and relationally. We believe education is never merely about grades, transcripts, or test scores. True education shapes the whole person.

In Room B6, academic excellence matters because truth matters. Careful reading, thoughtful writing, meaningful discussion, intellectual curiosity, and disciplined thinking are acts of stewardship. We pursue excellence not out of pride or competition, but because we believe human beings are created in the image of God and called to cultivate wisdom, beauty, discernment, and responsibility.

At the same time, Room B6 is committed to spiritual formation. Every class is shaping students into a certain kind of person. The question is never whether students are being formed, but into what. We desire that students grow not only in knowledge, but also in humility, wisdom, courage, compassion, integrity, gratitude, and love.

We believe this formation ultimately serves three purposes:

For the Good of Our Neighbor

Education should make students more capable of loving and serving others. Knowledge that produces arrogance is incomplete; knowledge that produces wisdom, empathy, responsibility, and sacrificial care is transformative. Students are called to use what they learn for the flourishing of families, churches, communities, and society.

For the Deepening of Our Joy

True learning enlarges wonder. It deepens delight in God’s world, strengthens our understanding of ourselves, and equips us to experience meaning and purpose more fully. Joy is not opposed to rigor. In Room B6, rigor and joy belong together.

For the Glory of God

All truth is God’s truth. Literature, rhetoric, psychology, history, philosophy, theology, film, and human experience all ultimately point beyond themselves. We study seriously because we believe the pursuit of wisdom is an act of worship. The goal is not simply informed students, but faithful human beings.
